Ambassador program · a small crew, picked twice a year

Fish it where people can see.Tell them the truth about it.

Folklore is a small company with no athlete roster and no interest in one. What we want is anglers who fish a lot, talk to people about it, and will tell us straight when something’s wrong.

Ambassadors get pro pricing, first dibs on every grip drop, and a direct line to the people who build the rods. You don’t need a big following. You need to be out there.

How it works.

  1. Apply

Where you fish, how you’d talk about it, and a link to something you’ve made.

  2. We pick a crew

A small group each spring and fall. Picked by people, not follower counts.

  3. Fish it loud

Your rod on your water, in front of people. Honest posts, the odd demo day, and notes back to us on what to fix.

What you get.

Pro price

50% off rods

Two a year, for your own quiver.

Before anyone else

First dibs

Numbered grip drops and new rods reach you before the list hears about them.

Every season

The kit

Hat, tee, stickers. Whatever we’ve just made.

Straight to us

A say

Test rods before they ship, tell us what’s wrong, see it change.

Questions.

What do you expect from me?

Fish the rods where people can see. One honest post or piece of content a month. Show up to a demo day or event if one’s near you. Tell us what’s wrong with the rods.

Is it paid?

No commission and no retainer. It’s pricing, gear, early access and a direct line to us. If we hire you for a specific shoot or event, that’s paid separately.

Do I need a big following?

No. A guide with forty clients a season puts more rods in hands than most accounts with forty thousand followers.

Do I have to say I’m an ambassador?

Yes, every time you post about Folklore. Use the platform’s paid-partnership label or #FolkloreAmbassador. The FTC requires it, and it’s the honest thing anyway.

I’m a guide. Pro program or this?

Both, if you like. Pro pricing is for your work; ambassadors represent the brand.

Apply.

We pick a small crew each spring and fall. Applications stay open year round and roll into the next round.

A person reads every one. You hear back either way.

Ambassadors are chosen at Folklore’s discretion for a one-year term, renewed by mutual agreement. Ambassador pricing is 50% off rods, up to two per calendar year, for the ambassador’s own fishing, final sale, with the lifetime no-fault warranty applying as normal. Ambassadors must disclose the relationship whenever they post about Folklore, using the platform’s paid-partnership label or #FolkloreAmbassador. Either side can end it at any time.
